Feel at ease while we accentuate your best features.

As a patient at CEENTA, we want you to have the most pleasant experience possible while receiving your treatment. To aid in this, we are proud to offer a quick, patient-controlled pain relief service for those receiving care: Pro-Nox.

What is Pro-Nox?

Pro-Nox is a pain management system used by physicians to provide fast-acting relief during a surgical procedure. It is a 1:1 oxygen and nitrous oxide ratio administered by the patient via an inhalant system, giving them greater control over their pain management and a comfortable in-office surgical experience.

How does Pro-Nox work?

Utilizing a disposable mouthpiece, hose, and convenient demand valve for optimum control, the patient self-administers the compound based on their specific pain tolerance. Your physician will be beside you to ensure that you receive the appropriate amount.

How does Pro-Nox differ from anesthesia or laughing gas?

Unlike general anesthesia or laughing gas, Pro-Nox does not cause full sedation or places patients to sleep or an altered state of mind. This product uses only 50% nitrous oxide in the compound compared to the standard 70% used in laughing gas.

By relying on a more even ratio, patients will feel pain relief in seconds and will have the effects wear off within ten minutes. As a result, you will not have to adjust your daily routine (ex. Driving after your surgery) following your procedure aside from those specific to your treatment.

Who are good candidates for Pro-Nox?

Pro-Nox is appropriate for most patients receiving outpatient procedures. That said, limiting factors for receiving this pain management system may include:

  • Pregnancy in the first trimester
  • Nasal obstruction
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • COPD
  • Claustrophobia
