If the mountains are your thing, a two-hour drive west to Asheville or Boone will put you right at their feet. And if you like the beaches, Wilmington and the coast are three and a half hours east.
I had a cochlear implant activated last year in my left ear. Dr. Stowell did the implant and my audiologist was Dr. Horning. That nerve had been dormant for about 40 years. I didn’t think they could fix my left ear because the nerve is dead, but they’ve been very good. I give them an A+.
