The first person you see when you walk into a medical setting can set the tone for the rest of your experience. This is especially true at CEENTA, where we ensure that our patients have excellent care from the minute they walk in to the minute they leave. This role is vital, but it does come with its own unique expectations. Today, the career spotlight for CEENTA is: patient representative.
Patient representatives at CEENTA greet patients and guests as they enter the building. They are a crucial part of the information chain between patient and provider by answering common questions about the facility, including services provided, billing issues, and additional ways of scheduling like myCEENTAchart. This position includes both in-person and telephone communication.
Day-to-day responsibilities include checking patients in, making appointments in person and via telephone, and clerical work such as distributing faxes and scanning documents. They are a consistent form of communication and keep patients informed on the facility’s operations.
Front desk staff at CEENTA must have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent. In addition, candidates for this role must have at least one year of related work experience, preferably within a medical environment.
Rosa Brooks, a patient representative from our Pineville office, gives a word of advice for new applicants. “The expectations are to be knowledgeable, courteous, consistent, calm and empathetic. You provide top-notch customer service.”
Candidates for this position are aware of the physical and mental demands of the job, including:
In addition, our team members have strong communication skills across a variety of mediums and can relay information to patients with ease. Their personality helps create a comfortable atmosphere for anyone with medical concerns.
Joining CEENTA means joining a team devoted to top-tier eye and ENT care, and as a patient representative you can see the results daily. Catherine Alfred, another patient representative from our Huntersville office, explains why she loves working at CEENTA in her role. “The best part of my job is talking with patients, helping them get seen by the doctor they need to see. I love seeing the patients when they come in for vision problems and they have surgery and can see!” For Rosa, her joy comes from “talking to and getting to know the patients.”
No matter which office you work in across North and South Carolina, your information and comfort can help make a patient’s day better, like Rosa Brooks and Catherine Alfred do with finesse.
