CEENTA is pleased to announce that Ronald Milam, Jr., MD, has joined our team on December 6, 2022, as our newest retina specialist.
Dr. Milam specializes in the treatment of medical and surgical retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachments, secondary intraocular lens placements, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, intraocular tumors and uveitis. He will see patients at our SouthPark, Fort Mill, and Steele Creek offices.
Graduating from the University of North Carolina with a degree in biology, Dr. Milam earned his medical degree from UNC School of Medicine. He then served as chief intern at John Peter Smith Hospital before completing residency training at Vanderbilt Eye Institute, where he served as chief resident and was awarded the Benchmark Award for Resident Excellence for two consecutive years. Following his residency, Dr. Milam completed his fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute, where he was presented the Fellow of the Year Award.
“Growing up in Statesville, I admired my father, who provided exceptional eye care for our community with that rare attention to personal touch,” Dr. Milam said. “Training at the Cleveland Clinic has allowed me to apply cutting-edge research and technology to tailor treatments specific for each patient’s individual needs. I am excited to join CEENTA, where I will have the opportunity to serve my hometown community, ensuring each patient is comfortable with his or her own personalized treatment plan.”
