During your consultation you and your doctor will discuss the treatment you would like. Your doctor will determine how many units of BOTOX will be injected. Risks and benefits of treatment will be discussed with you.Numb the skinIf you’re anxious, a topical numbing cream can be applied prior to the injections. This cream takes about 15 minutes to set in.Get guidesIf this is your first appointment or you are getting treatment in a new area, your doctor may draw a few small marks on the injection sites. If you’re a frequent patient, your doctor may skip this step.It’s time for the BOTOXYour doctor will inject BOTOX into your treatment areas. The BOTOX only takes a few minutes to be injected. You may experience some mild redness, bruising, or soreness at the injection sites. The amount of BOTOX used will vary. Typically, 25-75 units are used in the face.Review your resultsThe BOTOX will begin to wear in at about one week after your treatment. BOTOX typically lasts 3-4 months.
