Great players need great eyesight, which is why many Carolina Panthers have chosen LASIK to correct their vision. On January 23, wide receiver #13 Jarius Wright was the latest player to get this procedure from CEENTA Ophthalmologist and LASIK specialist William Hammonds, MD. LASIK is an eye surgery where lasers are used to reshape the cornea to correct a person’s vision. It is a painless and relatively quick procedure, with prep time taking about an hour and the procedure itself usually taking less than 15 minutes. CEENTA is the official eye, ear, nose, and throat care provider for the Carolina Panthers, and LASIK is just one of the many healthcare services provided to the players. Mr. Wright said he wanted LASIK because it can be easy to lose glasses when you spend a lot of time on the road. And not only did he not want contact lenses falling out when he played, but he found they dried his eyes out, too. LASIK will not just improve Mr. Wright’s vision on the field, but it will help him see clearly during everyday activities, too. Mr. Wright finally decided to get LASIK after talking to a few players. Mr. Wright had good things to say about Dr. Hammonds. Not only had Mr. Wright heard great things about his medical skills, but he said Dr. Hammonds was a very nice guy, too. The next day, Mr. Wright’s vision was 20/15 and he was very happy. As for Dr. Hammonds, he is thrilled to have been able to be the Panthers’ LASIK surgeon for the last five years. “Come see like a professional athlete today!” Dr. Hammonds said.
