Dr. Alexander Barnes is an ophthalmologist and retina specialist who provides eye care services in Charlotte, NC, Concord, NC, and Salisbury, NC. He specializes in the treatment of medical and surgical retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachments, secondary intraocular lens placements, macular holes and epiretinal membranes.
Graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in economics, Dr. Barnes received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. After completing his internship at MetroHealth Medical Center and his residency at the Cole Eye Institute in Cleveland, OH, Dr. Barnes later finished his fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Emory Eye Center at Emory University. Outside of the office, Dr. Barnes enjoys running, golfing, and spending time with his wife and three children.
