Dr. Kevin Coughlin is an otolaryngologist who provides comprehensive adult and pediatric ENT care in Charlotte, NC. His clinical interests include sleep disorders, particularly surgical treatments for obstructive sleep apnea and snoring. In addition, Dr. Coughlin provides care for a multitude of ENT problems including salivary gland disorders, sinusitis, allergy issues, ear infections, and hearing disorders. Dr. Coughlin provides specialty surgical procedures such as sleep surgery, including the Inspire Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation implant, salivary gland preserving surgery (sialendoscopy), septoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
Dr. Coughlin attended Davidson College and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry. He obtained his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine, earning the Dean’s Award upon graduation. Dr. Coughlin completed his residency in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He remained at the University of Tennessee for fellowship training in Sleep Medicine and Sleep Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the International Sleep Surgery Society.
Outside of the office, Dr. Coughlin and his wife Rachel enjoy watching the Tampa Bay Lightning, Formula 1 racing, and exploring the great outdoors.
