Shelby Martell is a voice and swallowing clinical fellow with experience in diagnosing and treating adults with swallowing and voice disorders. She has evaluated varied voice and swallowing disorders using videostroboscopy, Modified Barium Swallow Studies, and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). Her skillset includes flow phonation and resonant voice techniques, vocal hygiene counseling, Phonation Resistance Training Exercise (PhoRTE), and exercise-based swallowing therapy.
After completing her undergraduate degree in communication sciences and disorders and music (voice concentration) from The Ohio State University, Ms. Martell continued her education at her alma mater with a masters in speech-language pathology with a singing health specialization. She later completed externships in a comprehensive voice and swallowing clinic as well as a head and neck cancer center.
Ms. Martell is currently completing her clinical fellowship in Speech-Language Pathology at CEENTA's SouthPark office.
