The smoothness of the entire process was remarkable. From the identification that I may be a potential candidate for the Osia 2 cochlear implant to the most excellent care of those who support this most important work of Dr. Brendan O’Connell, I feel truly blessed. I am a professional sculptor, so as artist I am very aware of the keen masterful work of the hands in coordinating what one’s brain tells them to do.
I was 26 years old when I first lost much of my hearing after serious mastoid surgery and many surgeries to follow. I wore a behind the ear hearing aid for almost 40 years. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would hear like this again. I knew after that first visit with Dr. O'Connell at CEENTA that I indeed was in the hands of a masterful surgeon. Every day when I just magically place this Osia 2 sound processor on my head, the world comes alive... it’s like someone turned the lights on ! My balance is back and I can hear the birds again.
I am just so grateful To Dr. O'Connell, and the terrific team of audiologists at CEENTA.
One other thing: my terrible loud tinnitus that I’ve 40 years no longer rides shotgun in my life, it has taken a backseat.
