Certified Ophthalmic Assistant interview Dee Nantz

A strong team relies on the advice and expertise of its most veteran members. Between guiding new employees on their first day, collaborating with physicians for optimal patient care, and being a source of stability for long-time peers, these team members are a lynch pin in how an award-winning practice operates.

Meet Dee Nantz, a certified ophthalmic assistant to Dr. Ian Kirchner at our University office. Dee recently celebrated thirty years of tenure as a part of CEENTA, and she took a moment of her time to share some details about her time with us.

What convinced you to join CEENTA three decades ago?

I knew some of the former employees who worked at the practice, and they let me know about a position that was open. They helped me get my foot in the door, and I’m very grateful to them!

In your opinion, how has CEENTA improved its patient care over the years?

Since I’ve been here, I’ve seen more opportunities for what we offer and having all of these excellent physicians here.

What is your favorite part about your position?

Definitely the patients. I love helping and caring for the patients with my work family.

As someone with thirty years of experience in your field, what advice would you give to employees just starting their careers?

For anyone joining CEENTA, the first thing to understand is that you will not know everything on your first day. You will learn something new every day. But you’ll also bring things to our team to help us grow as well. Enjoy what you do and remember the most important thing: the patients need you.

CEENTA has continued to flourish because of dedicated team members like Dee, and as we continue to grow we are always looking for talented individuals who want to help their communities live happier and healthier lives.
