A couple watches a Halloween movie.

It’s Halloween, that fun and frightful time of year. Many of us, our doctors included, love to watch seasonal movies throughout October. So, after you’ve been to CEENTA to have your eyes and your hearing checked, why not sit down and check out one of our doctors’ favorite Halloween films?

My favorite is “Casper” because I took my wife to see it at the Tampa Theatre while we were engaged during my residency.

“Ghostbusters,” Ivan Reitman, 1984. If there’s something weird in your neighborhood, who are you going to call? Not your ophthalmologist, that’s for sure. This is one of my personal favorites. I’m a sucker for all things Bill Murray and this is a classic Halloween special that combines humor and the supernatural. There’s plenty to love for all ages, young and old alike.

I enjoyed “Goosebumps” a few years ago and now look forward to “Goosebumps 2.” It’s a great spooky and suspenseful movie with lots of humor as well. It’s great for the whole family!

“A Nightmare on Elm Street:” a classic.

My all-time favorite would be “It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” the Halloween-themed classic where Charlie Brown, Linus, and the gang hope for a visit by the Great Pumpkin. “Peanuts” movies never fail to bring a smile and a cringe to my face as the characters explore the awkward moments of life and childhood. My second all-time favorite Halloween movie would be “Ghostbusters.” This 1980s classic continues to bring laughter to audiences and gives the younger moviegoers just enough “scare” without the gore of some more modern-day thrillers.

“Goosebumps” is a classic with my kids. Never gets old.

“Young Frankenstein” is a classic. It’s my favorite Halloween movie.
