CEENTAcares Hosts Golf Tournament for Joe Martin ALS Foundation

As a part of our ongoing fundraiser to support the Joe Martin ALS Foundation this year, CEENTA hosted its annual CEENTAcares Classic Golf Tournament at Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation on Friday, October 11, 2024.

As the charitable arm of our practice, CEENTAcares was created to raise money for nonprofit organizations that make a difference in the community and correspond with CEENTA’s healthcare mission. Our 2024 partner, the Joe Martin ALS Foundation, empowers families facing ALS with home care, equipment, and information at no cost.

Over $20,000 has been raised so far for the 501(c)(3) organization, including money raised from player sign-ups, sponsorships from local and regional businesses, and fundraising ventures at CEENTA's offices. These opportunities are still ongoing through ticket raffles for the Charlotte Checkers, Charlotte Hornets, and Carolina Panthers along with denim jeans days.

Over 50 players were in attendance for the tournament, including CEENTA physicians Ross Udoff, MD, Christopher Tebbit, MD, Brendan O’Connell, MD, Roy Lewis, MD, Jeff Stetler, MD, Sumit Gupta, MD, Casey Mathys, MD, Kelly Doty, OD, Duncan Berry, MD, and Daniel Morrison, MD. The tournament winners are:

• 1st Place: WBTV
• 2nd Place: CEENTA Eye Physicians
• 3rd Place: DEX Imaging
• Closest to the Pin: WBTV
• Long Drive Winner: Carson Sanders, MD (Novant)
• Putting Contest: Brendan O’Connell, MD (CEENTA)

Previous CEENTAcares partnerships have included organizations such as Lions Services, The CARE Project, Philips Academy, the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, and the American Cancer Society.
