Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina named 2025 CEENTAcares partner

CEENTA is proud to announce that Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina has been named our CEENTAcares partner for 2025.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to feeding hungry individuals in the community by soliciting and distributing food and household items through partnerships. Founded in 1981, the organization features four branch locations across North and South Carolina and a central headquarters in Charlotte with services provided across twenty-four counties in the Carolinas.

As the newest partner of CEENTAcares, CEENTA’s charity wing, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina will receive a lump sum donation at the end of the calendar year generated by the practice’s internal fundraising efforts including ticket raffles for local partners Charlotte Checkers, Charlotte Hornets, and Carolina Panthers along with team member “Denim Days”. This fundraising culminates in the yearly CEENTAcares Classic Golf Tournament featuring donations from regional and national businesses.

"Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina is at the forefront of many initiatives in the greater Charlotte area that make a meaningful impact on our communities,” said Ryan Fitzmaurice, Administrative Resident and representative for CEENTAcares. “Along with addressing food insecurity in our local communities, they also provide hurricane relief from the devastating and lasting impacts from Hurricane Helene. Our CEENTA team is thrilled about the volunteering opportunities that Second Harvest can provide as well as gardening attention in our communities around hunger and how we can be agents of change. Overall, partnering with Second Harvest was an easy decision for our team members due to their lasting impact in our community and their commitment to service."

“We are so grateful for being selected as their CEENTAcares 2025 nonprofit partner,” stated Kay Carter, Chief Executive Officer at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. “Through our partnership, children, families, seniors, veterans, and pets will benefit from your innovative fundraising events. The food bank serves over 950 nonprofit partner agencies in 24 counties – eight of which are the same counties that CEENTA serves. We know that together we can help our neighbors who are dealing with food insecurity by providing nutritious protein, fruit, vegetables, and other items needed to stay healthy.”

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina joins a list of other organizations who have partnered with CEENTAcares in the past, including the Joe Martin ALS FoundationLions Services, The CARE Project, Philips Academy, and the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte.
